As part of their growth strategy, they acquired the Spanish startup Didactic Labs, known for its Additio App. This merger expands the Sdui Group, which already includes other EdTech companies like Pupil and Konecto. Philipps & Byrne was asked to conduct the Product and Technology Due Diligence on Addito on behalf of Sdui.

Supporting this pivotal acquisition, Philipps & Byrne deployed an in-depth tech due diligence process, focusing on the growth potential of Additio App’s specialized school management functions. Our due diligence covered several critical areas: From leadership, product management, and team dynamics to organizational structure, architecture, hosting and infrastructure, software delivery, quality assurance, and considerations related to security and privacy.

This included a close look at Additio’s strengths in school management, such as learning analytics, attendance tracking, and lesson planning, alongside Sdui's robust communication and organizational tools. We scrutinized the architecture and scalability to support an expanded user base across Europe, ensuring reliability, data security, and seamless user experiences. We also evaluated if the platform adheres to the necessary standards of data protection and privacy, essential for educational software dealing with sensitive student and institutional information.
